About Me

Hi, I'm Fusae. I was born in Japan and am living in Sydney, Australia.

 

I grew up in a very traditional Japanese family. My grandma loved kimono, wearing kimono everyday and used old kimono to make hair accessories. I was lucky enough to watch her wearing kimono, and making clothes all the time.

 

My mother was excellent sewer and she would make our clothes, especially clothes for special occasions. I loved wearing clothes that my mother made.

 

Since the passing of my grandmother and mother, I would often think of them and the memories of growing up around kimono clothing and sewing materials. I remembered how they spent the time to make beautiful items, and also the time that I spent with them while they were making.

 

Over the years, I started collecting beautiful kimonos that caught my eye. This collection grew more and more, but I had nowhere to wear them and they were instead collecting dust.

 

I decided one day that I wanted to share these beautiful kimono with others, who would love them as much as I did. I hope you find a special kimono item that I have made, and that you can cherish for years to come.
